Open Street - Near Southside Fort Worth
April 16th, 12 - 4 pm

Open Streets is a four-hour Sunday event which closes Magnolia Avenue and other adjacent streets to traffic and opens them up to cyclists, food trucks, dog-walkers, skateboarders, yoga classes, face-painters and  me! The event is an expression of the Near Southside's community spirit in every way: local businesses set up activities along the route; neighborhood residents help spread the word about street closures and detours; and dozens of community partners take ownership of key planning details such as routes and activities, temporary public art projects, pet adoptions, bike safety courses, setting up and breaking down barricades on event day, and much more. Open Streets is presented by Near Southside, Inc. and Whole Foods Market and has grown to be one of the Near Southside's most beloved community events with attendance in the thousands and more than 120 community partners.

Fort Worth Chalk Art Festival
2017

I was excited to participate in the 3rd Annual Chalk Art Festival, this time in the Professional Division. At 9'x9', this is the largest piece I have completed to date. It was a great change of pace from my small watercolor paintings, and it was so much fun to talk to all of the visitors while I was working.

2016

The West 7th Street 2nd Annual Chalk Art Festival was amazing! There were many great artists, including 11 year old Granger. He was competing at a very high-level with the adults. Check out his website here.

I was very excited to learn that my chalk art piece received the People's Choice Award as well as 1st Place in the judged competition. I can't wait for the 3rd Annual Festival in 2017!

Shows and Awards

My little painting, "Pookie," won 1st Place in Water Media at the 2016 IAA National Animal Art Competition.

"Olivia" and "Pookie" were both juried into the Fort Worth Community Arts Center 2016 show Art in the Metroplex. The artworks displayed at this show were amazing and I was honored to be accepted.
